Fruit Salad Day organized at Jack and Jill, Mangaf
May 8, 2014, 5:30 pm

On Thursday, 1 May, the tiny tots of Jack and Jill, Bhavans - Mangaf branch celebrated "Fruit Salad Day".  "Hands on experience" is a wonderful method of engaging children and encouraging them to learn about healthy food.

Hence, the children were asked to bring their favorite fruits.  The young ones brought a variety of fruits like apple, banana, mango, grapes, guava, pear, kiwi, orange, pomegranate and pineapple. Kids were encouraged to smell, touch and feel the texture of all the fruits. They were also encouraged to taste the slices of all the fruits brought in by their friends. The teachers helped the kids in the preparation and presentation of a yummy delicious Fruit Salad after they were introduced to various kinds of fruits that were brought in by their classmates. The kids also enjoyed the activity of preparing a fruits basket with pictures of fruits and identifying them.

The sight of children relishing the yummy fruit salad to their hearts' content was indeed very heartwarming. Mrs. Rathi Ravindran, the Principal, Jack and Jill School thanked the parent community for their unreserved support and encouragement.
