Emirati footballer and brother cleared of helping Frenchmen rob exchange centre with unlicensed gun
A French footballer and his countryman have been jailed for ten years each for robbing a money exchange centre in Motor City at gunpoint.
Meanwhile, an Emirati footballer and his brother were acquitted of aiding and abetting the Frenchmen in the armed robbery that took place in September 2012.
The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the French footballer, 21-year-old F.I., and his 39-year-old compatriot, K.H., of possessing and using the handgun during the armed robbery. They were also accused of stealing a Chevrolet car that they used in the heist.
Presiding judge Wajdi Al Menyawi acquitted an Emirati footballer, M.A., and his older brother, A.A., of aiding and abetting the convicts.
