Fourth Pakistan Mango exhibition opens at Zahra Cooperative

The Pakistan Business Centre (PBC) in cooperation with the Pakistan Embassy and the Al-Zahra Cooperative Society opened the 4th Pakistan Mango Exhibition at the Cooperative’s premises on 28 June.

The Pakistan Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Ghulam Dastgir was the chief guest at the function that was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and special invitees. The distinguished attendees included the Ambassador of Kenya H.E. Ali Abbass, Ambassador of Bangladesh H.E. Abu Kalam, Ambassador of Tanzania H.E. Mahadhi Juma, Ambassador of South Korea H.E. Hong Youngki, the Ambassador of Myanmar H.E. Aye Khaing and the Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy, Rudiger Zettel.

Other guests at the event included the Head of Al-Zahra area, Saad Al-Otaibi, the General Manager of Al-Zahra Cooperative Society, Abdul Rasool Sarkhu and the Director of PBC, Hafiz Muhammad Shabbir. A large gathering of Indian, Pakistani and local community members also attended the event.

In addition, the Chairperson of Umeed Welfare, educationist, columnist, social activist and PTV media person, Professor Dr. Afshan Malik, traveled from Pakistan to participate in the function as a special guest. Riaz Bin Dawood Al-Oun, Public Relations Manager from Embassy of Saudi Arabia, Rifat Ibrahim from Embassy of Syria, Ali Abdulla Al-Ali from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Ahmed Yousuf Al-Duraia from Ministry of Defense, Madam Najla Nakki, government lawyer, Council of Ministers and Suleiman Abdul Kareem, ex-Ambassador of Egypt were also among the attendees.

Ambassador Dastgir expressed his pleasure that the exhibition of Pakistani products particularly Pakistani mangoes was presented so very effectively.  He added that he was grateful to PBC for their efficient work and especially congratulated the efforts made by Hafiz Muhammad Shabbir. For his part, Mr. Shabbir lauded the support received for the event that increased visibility of Pakistan’s mangoes that are known for their variety, unique taste and superb fragrance.

The guests were then escorted around Al-Zahra Cooperative Society’s hall to view the Pakistani mangoes on display in attractive and colorful settings. Following the event, the PBC presented special gift packs to the ambassadors and other distinguished personnel who had participated in the inaugural function.  Ambassador Dastgir then awarded Appreciation Shields to the management of Al-Zahra Cooperative Society and others who participated in the event.

Professor Dr. Afshan Malik, stated that the Pakistani community members and other nationalities were so passionately involved that it all looked like one nation.  She appreciated the efforts exerted by Mr. Shabbir in bringing a slice of Pakistan to Kuwait and assured that whenever possible she would promote Pakistani products through PTV network for Kuwait.
