Two women — a Filipina and a Sri Lankan — died in a fire that engulfed the house of a Kuwaiti citizen in Adan area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the house on fire, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics.

Upon arrival, they discovered that two housemaids were trapped inside the burning house. Firefighters immediately worked on rescuing the two women but they were dead when found. They then extinguished the fire within a short time.

The corpses have been referred to the Forensics Department. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire. The owner of the house said the two housemaids were under the sponsorship of his family. Meanwhile, fire broke out in a shop in Souk Mubarakiya. No casualties were reported. When the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) received information about the shop on fire, firefighters were dispatched to the location. They extinguished the fire before it spread to the nearby shops.

Investigations regarding the cause of the fire have been launched. In addition, a Bangladeshi expatriate suffered from burns and smoke inhalation because of a fire that broke out in a bachelors’ accommodation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. He was referred to the nearest hospital for treatment. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered that the cause of the fire was high electricity load. Necessary action was taken.
