FOSA Kuwait Conducts Members Get-together
Kuwait Chapter of FOSA (Farook College Old Students’ Association) held members get-together and annual General Body meeting on 13th December at Rajadhani Palace Restaurant, Khaitan. The FOSA function, presided over by K.V. Ahmed Koya –President of FOSA Kuwait and function started with recitation of holy Qur’an by T.V. Muhammad. Muhammad Rafi – General Secretary welcomed the gathering.
Activity report and Finance report were presented by Riyas Ahmed, Organising Secretary and K.V. Abdul Gafoor, Finance Secretary respectively. The existing president is moving to India for good and some of the office bearers of the existing committee were replaced and approved by the General body. President, Muhammad Rafi, General Secretary Riyaz Ahmed, Organising Secretary Ramees Hydros and Vice President C.E.V Imtiaz.
Activity plan for 2014 was discussed and finalised in the meeting. The New Year programs starts with Family get-together on 31st January 2014 and planned to attract maximum new FOSA members to the program. All the members were actively involved in the meeting and various suggestions are provided by Mr Junoub P.P, Raoof Mashhoor, Dr Mustafa Keyi, C.E.V. Imtiaz, Hijas Ismail, Moideen Kunchi, Yacoub, Kamal K.V, Shaheer and Zubair M.M. The function concluded by the vote of thanks of Riyas Ahmed and lunch served by Rajadhani place Restaurant.
Farook College is the largest residential college in Kerala with Five Star Certification from UGC and offering post graduate courses in all the subjects. The college campus is one of the largest in Kerala and knows as ‘Aligarah of South India’. Farookabad Campus also has a Management school for MBA studies, Teachers training college, Arabic college, Al Farook educational centre which offers training for professional courses for ACS, CFA and computer courses from DoE and IGNOU, secondary school, residential school and civil services coaching centre, etc. The Library of Farook college is one of the biggest Libraries in South India.
FOSA, the association of Farookians (old students, Teachers of Farook College and sister institutions) has units in most of the Middle East countries, North America and at major cities in India. FOSA plays a major role by sponsoring major projects at the campus and also provides financial assistance to deserving students at the college.
FOSA Kuwait unit with help of a Kuwaiti sponsor constructed a Sports pavilion in the college campus in association with their 60th anniversary celebrations and now taken-up the second project in the college, The Renovation works for AlSager Auditorium. The works are under construction and the project will be completed by February 2014. Fosa Kuwait also providing Educational support for poor and brilliant students of Farook College through the scholarship and merit awards schemes.
