FM reiterates Kuwait's support to Bahrain against terrorism

Kuwaiti First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah co-chaires 9th meeting of the Joint Kuwaiti-Bahraini Committee.

Kuwaiti First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Sunday reaffirmed the country's support to Bahrain's efforts to counter terrorism.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled co-chaired the 9th meeting of the Joint Kuwaiti-Bahraini Committee, together with the visiting Bahraini counterpart Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa.

The official talks, held at the Foreign Ministry, reviewed cooperation among the various sector sin both countries. Addressing the meeting, he emphasized the deep-rooted bilateral relations, lauding the positive outcome of the 9th session that translated into reality the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

The 9th session of the committee comes amid very complicated regional and international developments, which prompt the Gulf, the Arab and the world's joint efforts to overcome them.

On his part, the Bahraini foreign minister stressed the substantial support to the bilateral historical ties on all levels by the wise leadership in both countries. He also highly appreciated Kuwait's backing to the Kingdom.

Up to 51 bodies representing the official and private sectors in both countries took part in the meeting that assessed the progress achieved since the 8th session, together with means of boosting cooperation in all fields.

Concluding the meeting, the two sides signed three MoUs on legislative coordination and cooperation in electricity and central and popular markets. They also inked three executive programs for cooperation in education, culture, arts and preservation of the environment. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled held a banquet lunch for the Bahraini delegation.
