FILASEAK holds induction ceremony of new officers

The new set of officers of Filipino Association of Secretaries of Employment Agency in Kuwait took their oath of office before Consul Jabbar Adiong at the Dana Ballroom of Holiday Inn in Salmiyah on Friday night. The Philippine Labor Attaché Atty. Cesar Chavez Jr. and spouse, owners of recruitment agencies and members of the association graced the said occasion.

Highlights of the occasion included the induction ceremony led by Consul Adiong and new set of officers are Maripol Abdallah – President, Bernabe Jones Garcia – Vice President, Secretary – Paulo Angelo Liwanag, Cora Asoy – Treasurer, Prince jess Carlos II – Treasurer and Janice Cainoy - Public Relations Officer. The official launching of FIL ASEAK website, Hotline, Facebook page with Twitter, Youtube and Instagram accounts earned praises and were lauded the crowd, embassy and labor officials.

“This group is definitely going to make a big difference in recruitment industry in Kuwait. The officers picked the right choices to tap the social media to reach out and hopefully decrease if not eliminate irregularities not only in hiring workers but implementations of new policies and guidelines, which can now be posted in the social media, which is today a vital necessity to access updates and formulate solutions,” said Labor Attaché Chavez. Consul Adiong also delivered a brief speech assuring everyone of the embassy’s active support to the organization’s endeavors and foster unity and impartiality among others.

In her inaugural speech, Abdallah boasted on the series of projects, which FILASEAK will undertake in coming days and thanked the embassy, POLO and OWWA for their endless support to provide good services that include security, welfare and rights to house service workers. She also urges for the support of the members during the group’s term of office.

Former Vice President of the organization Lailah Venturina in her speech thanked everyone for the opportunity given to her team by the members and extended good wishes and support to the new set of officers. Instructors of The Gym Team provided a ten-minute Zumba demonstration to the delight of everyone and announced its incoming project “Zumbathon Charity” on the 12 June in celebration of the 117th Independence Day of the Philippines.  Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to individuals in recognition of their assistance to FILASEAK’s launch project.

Among other highlights of the occasion was recitation of the preamble led by Mendrick Alabat, vocal performance by Krishel, information launching of the association’s official website by Belinda Belnas and ceremonial cutting of the cake by Labor Attache Chavez, Consul Adion and officers of the FILASEAK.  Dinner immediately followed after formalities.
