Representatives of local banks recently attended a meeting where they discussed the latest updates pertaining to the government’s agreement with the United States’ Internal Revenue Service (IRS) about the implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). The Kuwaiti government had assured its US counterpart that the agreement will be implemented following the ratification in the National Assembly. The enacting of the process is now expected to be delayed past September due to the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr holidays.
