FAIPS wins the Fifth IDF Interschool Health Quiz

The Indian Doctors Forum (IDF), Kuwait held its Fifth IDF Interschool Health Quiz on 14 November at Kuwait Medical Association Hall in Jabriya. After a grueling two hours of quizzing, the Fahaheel Al-Wataniya School (FAIPS) with Ameena Bushera Shafeeq and Mituna Gopalkrishnan emerged victorious against the five other finalists school teams, winning the trophy for the fifth time in a row.

The quiz show, attended by hundreds of students from many Indian schools in Kuwait, saw the presence of the Chief Guest for the evening,  the Ambassador of India to Kuwait H. E. Sunil Jain, his spouse Dr. Gargi Jain and other dignitaries as welcomed by IDF President Dr. Vinod Grover. The IDF Vice President Dr. Vivek Wani welcomed the audience, and reminisced on the inception of the IDF Health Quiz.

The quiz, attracting the participation of the brightest students from each school, was conducted by the friendly, funny, and extremely spontaneous quiz masters Dr. Sebastian and Dr. Anantpriya, along with the support of Dr. Reji Athyal, Dr. Ajay D'Souza, Dr. Lata Rijhwani, Dr. Vinod Warrier, Dr. Veena Warrier and Tessa Sebastian, giving the tough quiz a tinge of entertainment which the audience appreciated too.

The eight rounds, including buzzer and bidding rounds, were based on health topics both entertaining and educative, and the questions challenged the participant's intelligence, academic knowledge, current health news and interesting historical health facts.

While Mitoshi Nandi and Arunima Nair took the Indian Educational School (IES/ Bhavans) team up as the first runner up, Esra Haroon and Emad Udin of United Indian School (UIS) acquired the title for second runner up after a tie-breaking round with the Indian Community School (ICS) Senior represented by Tara Varghese and Ahmed Abubakr.

With the webmasters Dr. Senthil and Dr. Manish Rijhwani of IDF, Dr. Gargi Jain awarded the prizes and certificates to the meritorious XII standard students while Mrs. Bose and Afzal Khan of Malabar Gold and Diamond awarded the meritorious X standard students. The Ambassador, sponsors – Chairman of Jabriya Indian School Sunny Mathew, Chief Operating Officer of Landmark group Saibal Basu, and Marketing Manager of Al Mulla Exchange John Simon honored the successful teams with gift vouchers, cups and certificates.

The IDF Interschool Health Quiz Rolling Trophy was handed over to the FAIPS winning team by the Ambassador and IDF President Grover followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Jaffer Ali.
