The Cassation Court upheld the verdict issued by the Court of Appeals which sentenced former MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei and five firefighters to three-month imprisonment for participating in an illegal demonstration. They were obliged to pay bail bond of KD 200 each and sign a pledge to maintain good conduct.

According to the case file, the suspects were accused of using violence against the employees of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate and damaging some public properties as well as not following securitymen’s orders to disperse.

Director General of KFSD Major General Al-Mansouri had filed a petition against the five suspects, demanding necessary legal measures to be taken against them. However, the latter denied all accusations, stressing that they had organized a peaceful rally for their rights without allowing it to affect their work.
