The Council of Ministers has amended Article 57 of the Private Sector Labor Law number 6/2010, which states that some activities are exempted from transferring salaries of expatriate workers to local banks, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the amendment mandates the Public Authority for Manpower to request for copies of the lists of salaries paid to Kuwaiti and expatriate employees through the banks.

Sources said this indicates that the law requires employers to transfer salaries and other entitlements of Kuwaiti and expatriate employees to their respective personal bank accounts. Sources added the Council of Ministers will soon issue a decision to regulate expenditures and commissions related to such accounts.

Meanwhile the Central System for Remedying Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) will soon issue new security cards valid for three months to about 9,000 Bedouns registered in the system, reports Al-Jaridah daily. Sources said the cards will be given to Bedouns included in the 1980 and 1985 censuses, in addition to those under security restrictions and citizenship index. Sources explained that the card will be issued to a Bedoun although he is part of the 1965 Census if he is under security restriction or citizenship index.
