You don’t usually see royalty when travelling on the London Underground but the Prince of Dubai and his father are clearly the exception to the rule after being spotted on the Tube.
Despite having billions in the bank, the Dubai royalty decided on the rather low-key travel option of the London Underground on a visit to the capital. Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum shared of photo of him sitting on the Tube next to his father, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Ruler of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
They were dressed in casual clothes, with the Crown Prince of Dubai wearing a T-shirt and jeans as he posed for photos and videos.
Their plain clothed entourage can also be seen in a video posted on Instagram, standing on the busy Tube next to members of the public. The Sheikhs boast a vast UK property empire including numerous homes in and around London and also own the Longcross Estate in Surrey, thought to be worth around £75 million. The Crown Prince of Dubai is a keen social media user with more than 1.8 million followers on Twitter alone.
Last year, he shared a video on Facebook of a very dapper little boy taking off his top hat to shake the Queen's hand.
He is popularly known as Fazza, the name he publishes his poetry under, and knows the UK well having graduated from Sandhurst and studied at the London School of Economics.
In February, the UAE surprisingly appointed new ministers of "tolerance" and "happiness" as part of a cabinet reshuffle.
