Buildings in Dubai have been evacuated after tremors were felt from an earthquake originating in Iran.
The quake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was in southern Iran, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
It hit at 9.44am Dubai time about 157 kilometres north-east of Dubai.
Workers in Dubai have reported feeling tremors, with dozens of buildings evacuated.
No fatalities or injuries have been reported.
It is the second significant earthquake to produce tremors in the Gulf in the past year, after more than 40 people died in a quake in Iran on April 26 last year, which led to thousands of people being evacuated in Gulf cities.
