Dr. K. T. Rabeeullah receives ‘Pravasi Ratna’ Award

Dr. K. T. Rabeeullah received the ‘Pravasi Ratna’ Award conferred by Anand TV Channel, the first independent Manchester based foreign Malayalam Channel.  In a glittering ceremony that was held in Manchester, United Kingdom, Megastar Padma Shri Mammootty handed over the award to Dr. K.T. Rabeeullah, Chairman of Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, who is also renowned for his various charity activities in Kerala and Gulf countries. 

The award given by Anand T.V. Channel and the European Malayali groups jointly was in recognition of the humanitarian activities rendered by Dr. Rabeeullah for the last 3 decades besides the health services offered at affordable cost to the common masses through hospitals and medical centers all over the gulf region.     

During the occasion, Dr. Rabeeullah stated that he was excited to receive the award because Anand TV channel has been able to gain immense popularity with the Malalyali communities all over Europe and especially in England within a short period.  The Anand TV Channel started its telecast in April 2014 to serve the Malayali communities all over Europe.

Anand Media, owned by Mr. Sreekumar, a British Malayali, ensured that the dream of a local Malayali channel for Keralite communities of Europe was realized two years ago.  Dr. K.T. Rabeeullah hailing from East Kodur, Malappuram, Kerala started his humanitarian activities by adopting the whole village of East Kodur and fulfilling dreams of his countrymen mostly of under-privileged strata.  He has been actively involved in various service projects in the field of education, health and other socially significant areas.

Dr. K. T. Rabeeullah had the opportunity to receive ‘Pravasi Bahratiya Puraskar’ from Sri Pranab Mukherjee, President of India in the year 2013.  Besides the same, he has been conferred with many awards from various organizations and associations in Kerala and gulf countries for the humanitarian activities and the health services offered by him.

In a Press report released by Dr. K. T. Rabeeullah, Chairman of Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group recently, it was announced that Indian Rs. 10 crores (KD 500,000/- approximate) would be set aside for charity activities by him over the span of next 3 years. 

Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group owns and runs more than 30 clinics including some hospitals and dental centers throughout the Gulf region – in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and UAE.  Shifa Al Jazeera today offers services of more than 4,000 personnel, including 700+ doctors.  More than 20,000 people are getting services of the Shifa polyclinics every day.   Shifa Group made its entry to Kuwait in the year 2008 and the first Medical Center was established in Farwaniya. In its endeavour to spread its services to various regions of Kuwait, the second branch was set up in Fahaheel in 2011 and the third one in Jleeb Al Shuyoukh (in the name of Al Nahil Int’l Clinic) in 2014.
