Diwali celebrated with pomp at Bhavans

The kindergartens of Bhavan’s celebrated one of the most significant festivals of India, ‘Diwali’ on 9 November, 2015. Diwali is celebrated to commemorate the return of the legendary king Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp.

Shlokas were chanted by the young Bhavanites in the backdrop during the lighting of the lamp which added charm and festive fervor to the prevailing atmosphere. The stage was tastefully and elegantly decorated with lights and lamps portraying the essence of the festival.

The kindergartners showcased a spectacular performance illuminating the hearts and minds of the onlookers. The program included a skit and a dance which passed the message of celebrating Diwali as a festival of light and ‘light’ as a symbol of positive energy and victory of good over evil. The program was concluded with the grand entry of children dressed as characters from the epic “Ramayana” added enthusiasm, devotion and excitement to the ambience.

Lalitha Premkumar, the Vice Principal, Primary and KG wings thanked all the teachers and students for staging a program of great magnitude. She also appreciated the hard work of the teachers and the children that made the day truly remarkable. The event culminated with the vice principal’s message to the children. Celebration of all festivals has always been a part of the Bhavan’s kindergarten curriculum which facilitated students in understanding the value of traditions and culture. The children remained thrilled and delighted throughout, making the event a memorable one.
