The Director of Kuwait Center for Mental Health Dr Adel Al-Zayed has revealed depression affects one in every five people and that if not cured, it can cause disability and prevent the person from leading a normal life, reports Al-Rai daily.Al-Zayed mentioned according to the World Health Organization (WHO), this disease is expected to be the second main cause of health disability by 2020.

He said this disease can bring about lack of ability to produce, protect family and inability to earn daily bread. He also talked about hyperactivity and attention deficit, which is a disease that mainly affects children and their inability to interact with others.

This can be treated, he said, by referring them to school for people with special needs or by giving the child an early appropriate treatment which can contribute to him being an excellent student at school.
