Delegates from IBC Participate in H.H the Prime Minister’s Visit to India

Indian Business Council (“IBC”) Kuwait, the largest non-profit voluntary association of Indian businessmen, company executives and corporates issued a statement on the successful visit of His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah and the accompanying high-level delegation of ministers, senior officials and businessmen to India.

Prominent Indians, businessmen and delegates from Indian Business Council that travelled to Delhi to be part of this first high level head of government visit from Kuwait to India  included S.K Wadhawan, M.A Asad Aleem, S.A Khan, Ajay Goel and Manoj Kabra. 

Mr. Wadhawan, Chairman of IBC commented “IBC has been at the forefront of promoting the development of trade and investment between Kuwait and India. Over the years, we have established very close relationship and cooperation with the leading trade bodies in India namely ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI and with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Our objective is to connect Kuwaiti businesses and corporations with India and to introduce and assist Indian corporates and businesses to invest and carry out projects in Kuwait. His Highness the Prime Minister’s visit to India will further cement and expand the bilateral trade between the two countries.”

During the visit, the delegates from Indian Business Council had one-on-one meetings with the Foreign Minister of India, the Minister of Commerce and the Finance Minister. The delegates also attended an interactive business meeting hosted by FICCI, ASSOHAM and CII. Manoj Kabra held a presentation on “Doing Business in Kuwait” highlighting benefits of investing in Kuwait. He provided an overview of the foreign investment rules and gave insights into various available business structures in Kuwait. He also explained how Indian businesses and corporates can participate in the contracts and projects in Kuwait and gave tips on attracting investments from Kuwait.

Indian Business Council  Kuwait,  was established under the patronage of the Ambassador of India to the State of Kuwait over a decade ago. His Excellency Satish Mehta, the current Ambassador of India to the State of Kuwait has actively supported IBC and has been instrumental in arranging for the high-level visit to India by His Highness the Prime Minister. Each year, IBC hosts several seminars, meetings with trade delegations from India and presentations on the Indian and Kuwaiti economy.
