Dasman Diabetes Center has offered visitors of Kuwait's pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 an account of the country's efforts to counter modern age and lifestyle diseases, of which diabetes is a major one. Kuwait's participation in the Expo is not confined to the country's efforts to combat water rarity but have been extended to face diseases such as diabetes, Director of Medical Services at the Center Dr. Faisal Al-Refa'i told KUNA.
Referring to the core theme of the universal exhibition, namely "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", Al-Refa'i said that based on this the Center offers Kuwaiti healthy traditional meals that are good for diabetics.
The Center aims to explain the reasons why the disease has been spread in Kuwait as well as the country's support to the world's efforts to face it, he noted. The week-long participation in the pavilion has come through invitation by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, who is keen to display Kuwait's efforts to face lifestyle diseases.
