Crowne Plaza Kuwait held a two-day long Sri Lankan Food Festival, in association with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait and Commercial Bank of Sri Lanka, at its Al Ahmadi International Buffet restaurant.
The festive inaugural ceremony was held in the presence of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka H.E. Wijeratne, Mrs. Jeyalakshmi Wijeratne, Mr. Jegan Durairatnam- COO of Commercial bank of Sri Lanka and top management of the bank. The invitee list included ambassadors of Japan, Korea, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Germany in addition to a large number of the media in Kuwait.

In the two day Sri Lankan food festival on the 18th and 19th March 2014, the guests experienced the irresistible aromas and the richness of the Sri Lankan traditions in the most extraordinary way, ensuring them a memorable culinary journey to the island. This food festival is yet another feather in its cap in offering an international dining experience to its guests. His Excellency Wijeratne spoke wonderful words about the Sri Lankan traditions and the specialty of its rich cuisine.
Highlighting the opening ceremony was an internationally acclaimed traditional Channa Upuli group who are known for their uniquely creative style. The Festival featured a wide array of authentic and mouth-watering dishes and Al Ahmadi International buffet restaurant guaranteed the ambiance and dining experience aimed to relive the true spirit of the Sri Lankan culture.
