Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait City & Arraya Ballroom appoint Director of Food & beverage

Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait is delighted to announce the appointment of Mario Bassil as its new Director of Food & Beverage. Mario Bassil has a career spanning of 23 years working in hospitality industry in Lebanon, UAE and Kuwait.

In his new role, Mario will be in charge of the prestigious Arraya Ballroom in addition to three diverse cuisines restaurants, two lounges and a café at the Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait City hotel overseeing the operations of Soul and Spice Indian restaurant, Sushi Japanese Restaurant, Atrium Restaurant & Lounge, Club Lounge and Tiramisu Cafe.

Prior to his appointment at Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait Hotel, he served in the position of Director of F&B at Le Gray Hotel Beirut and Movenpick Hotel and Resort Beirut. Mr. Bassil holds a bachelor degree in hotel management from Oxdell University in USA.

His passion for hospitality and culinary excellence got him traveling the world to learn about different cuisines and cultures. Well versed with Kuwaiti culture and culinary market trends, he has spent close to a decade in Kuwait in various roles at different hotels and restaurants like the Marina Hotel and subsequently moved to Movenpick Hotel & Resort Kuwait where he spent 5 years in a directorial position.

Mr. George Aoun the Cluster General Manager of Kuwait Marriott Hotels sharing his views on his appointment adds, “We are looking forward to Mario's experience and keen sense of market knowledge in the culinary aspect, it is without a doubt I see him as an asset to the growing Marriott Properties in Kuwait."
