On the eve of Christmas, devoted parishioners in great numbers attended the Christmas service at the Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Kuwait City. They united on this holy eve to celebrate Christmas, one of the most holiest festivals in the Catholic Calendar.
This year the mass was dedicated to thoughts of peace and understanding, and encouragement was given to everyone to think of a brighter future despite their difficulties.
Addressing the gathering in his sermon, the nuncio highlighted the importance of human life and how the coming of Christ signals the beginning of peace. He expressed his deepest appreciation for the people, saying, "We have all come here from other countries to earn a living, but we are rich in our faith. We should be instruments of peace, and peace is only possible if God is in people's hearts."
The mass ended with all present wishing each other a Merry Christmas and the spreading of good will and peace to all. The spirit of Christmas was alive in everyone's hearts and they displayed it willingly to their friends and families, and shared the joy of the season.
