Chit Chaat with Dad – A Fathers' Day special
June 18, 2017, 3:20 pm

The ladies at Agnesian Alumnae of Kuwait (AAK) celebrated Fathers' Day on Friday, 16 June at Better Books, Salmiya, with the support of members and their families. The role of a Father in an individual’s life cannot be under-estimated. Just like the Mother, the Father too invests himself completely in the child expecting almost nothing in return. At AAK, we believe that the role of a father is as important as that of a mother; we also recognize and admire the difficult role played by the single alumnae mums. This event focused on making the dads feel special and honoring their role in their children’s lives.

The cultural secretary, Rashmi Menezes welcomed the gathering. Jackie Alphonso and Ivy Sequeira gave glory to our Heavenly Father by singing Don Moen's 'Our Father'.  This was followed by an action song 'Making Melody In My Heart' that got everyone energized for the evening.

Five year old Garon Mascarenhas and his father Elwyn Mascarenhas sang the all-time Jim Reeves favorite 'But You Love Me Daddy' - the utterly cute and melodious rendition was the highlight of the evening. Then, children participated in a questionnaire on 'Who Knows Daddy Best' and Lloyd Dias, Praveen Luis and Naveen Pinto received applause as their children had correctly answered the most questions on them.

A photo contest conducted in honor of the occasion saw Melita Dsouza (Regional HR Manager of Pentair Inc, Dubai) placed Lavina Pinto and Felcy Tauro in 1st and 2nd places respectively.

In our 'Teaching and Learning Series', the children learnt the basic art of 'Knotting the Tie' from Allen Alphonso. Group games, forfeits and spot prizes kept the gathering entertained.  The members' kids performed and danced for their fathers.

With the theme of the evening being 'Chit Chaat', the Bhelpuri, Moong Dal Chaat and Papdi Chaat that were instantly mixed and prepared by the AAK ladies for everyone to snack on and enjoy its deliciousness. Jackie Alphonso delivered the vote of thanks. AAK wishes all the fathers around the world, a very Happy and Blessed Fathers' Day.
