KidZania Kuwait, the exciting kid-sized metropolis, saw children from across Kuwait vote for their most cherished right at KidZania during its recent celebration of Universal Children’s Day.

Taking place from November 20-22 at the Grand Avenue in The Avenues Mall, the event featured five ballot boxes where children were able to vote for one of their five KidZania rights: the right to know, the right to care, the right to share, the right to create and the right to play. Each of these rights is entrusted to KidZania’s five Rightskeepers: Urbano, Vita, Chicka, Beebop and Bache.

Based on the three-day voting by children, the right to play was what children needed most to help them in creating a better world with 32 percent votes, followed by the right to share with 29 percent, the right to create with 15 percent, the right to know with 12 percent, and lastly, the right to care with almost 12 percent.

Commenting on the event, Fernando Medroa, Vice President of Leisure and Entertainment at M.H. Alshaya Co., said: “At KidZania, we try to genuinely understand children’s views on how they perceive their five fundamental rights and apply them in creating a better world."

“By celebrating Universal Children’s Day, we aim to empower kids and help them express themselves through fun exercises that develop their characters and self-independence, while at the same time reminding adults of their children’s rights,” Medroa added.

The celebrations also featured other activities that took place inside KidZania, including an interactive exercise where children got to learn more about KidZania’s rights and their Rightskeepers, a Rightskeepers parade and a special show at the KidZania Theater. Children could also participate in an online competition for a chance to win free tickets to KidZania through an hourly raffle draw.

First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, Universal Children's Day was established to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world's children.

KidZania Kuwait helps children aged 4 to14 learn about the adults’ world in a fun and engaging setting by offering them a kid-sized city experience, all in a safe and self-contained environment.
