The cabinet has endorsed a draft decree naming Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Abul as acting Minister of Public Works, Electricity and Water, after Minister Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim resigned from the post.
Holding a weekly routine meeting at Bayan palace on Monday, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the cabinet commended fervent and sincere efforts exerted by the minister during his term of office, wishing him best of luck in serving the nation in his future endeavors.
The cabinet was informed about His Highness the Amir's acceptance of Al-Ibrahim's resignation, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said.
Also in today's meeting, the cabinet was notified of His Highness the Amir's participation in Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) held in Sharm El-Sheikh and his statement to the major event on Kuwait's support to Egypt's economy, security and stability.
Then the meeting was briefed by His Highness the Premier on a recent visit by Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan to Kuwait, leading a delegation to bolster bilateral ties. According to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, the cabinet was notified of the message His Highness the Amir received from Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on developing bilateral relations in all fields. President Sargsyan also invited His Highness the Amir to visit Armenia.
The meeting was notified of the message to His Highness the Amir from former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on bilateral ties. Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet on the outcome of the 143rd session of the Arab Foreign Ministers held in Cairo.
The cabinet was also informed about the results of the 134th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers recently held in Riyadh, especially what is related to developments in Yemen.
In addition, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled briefed the cabinet on the outcome of the GCC Foreign Ministers' meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry. It addressed regional and international developments.
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah informed the ministers about the outcome of the Arab Interior Ministers meeting recently held in Algeria and its key results and recommendations, mainly reports on what has been carried out by member states to combat terrorism.
The cabinet approved the 8th Arab security plan, the 6th Arab media plan for security awareness and prevention of crime and the 5th plan for Arab strategy for traffic safety.
The cabinet endorsed two draft decrees appointing Sheikh Yusuf Abdullah Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Director General of Kuwait Ports Authority and Tareq Eid Hamad Al-Mezrem Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.
The two decrees were referred to His Highness the Amir for final approval. The ministers discussed issues on the agenda of the National Assembly, together with reports on the current Arab and international developments.
