The cabinet yesterday voiced sincere congratulations to Kuwaiti women on the occasion of the International Women’s Day (IWD), hailing their vital role in societal development. At its weekly meeting held under His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the cabinet appreciated Kuwaiti women’ distinguished achievements in various fields as well as their sacrifices and resistance during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah AlMubarak Al-Sabah said in a statement following the meeting. It also voiced confidence in Kuwaiti women’s ability to overcome their challenges and to live up to responsibility for building society, promoting their position and making more achievements, he said.
The cabinet then approved a draft decree on the statute of Law 24/2012 on the Public Anti-Corruption Authority, a draft decree on partnership between both public and private sectors, two air service agreements between Kuwait and China and Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Afterwards, the cabinet was apprised of two reports by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Ministry of Electricity and Water on the causes of recent power cutoff at some areas in Kuwait and efforts to recurrence in the future, the minister added.
The ministers further approved a draft decree appointing Mohammad Yusuf Yaqoub as assistant director-general of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, together with another draft decree appointing 215 officers in the Kuwaiti army as of March 9, 2015.
