March 8, 2015, 3:03 pm

Calling all cricket lovers....its here...the much anticipated "CRYcket 2015" cricket tournament for boys and girls under 14 (born on or after 01.01.2001). Friends of CRY Club (FOCC) announces the 18th "DNVGL-CRYcket" tournament, to be held at the Fahaheel Sports Club on Friday, 10th Apr 2015 from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm (Last date of registration: 04.04.2015). So come on, get yourselves and your teams ready for the cricket event of the year.

The one day “CRYcket” cricket tournament is open to all children under 14. The children are grouped into teams in two age categories and play softball cricket while spectators, parents and well-wishers enjoy a carnival atmosphere. 12 teams each are set to participate in the Under-12 and Under-14 divisions. The initial round in four groups in round robin fashion leads to 1 winner from each group, who will clash in the semifinals. The 7-over matches will be played simultaneously on two playgrounds.

Apart from the trophies awarded to the winners, medals and certificates from CRY-India (Child Rights & You) will be given to each player. Experienced umpires will control the games assisted by official scorers.

The teams will play in this tournament in recognition of a much felt need to support less fortunate children in the Indian subcontinent and heightened awareness of the work done by CRY, which is an international organization, that believes that every child is entitled to basic rights of survival, protection, development, education and participation.

A colourful souvenir will be published and released to mark the occasion, which is open to all for placing their adverts.  Delicious breakfast, lunch and snacks will be available throughout the day, along with raffle draws and other games for children.
