Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested three Ethiopian maids for allegedly attempting to smuggle into the country 20 kilos of narcotics. The maids arrived into the country from Addis Ababa and during interrogation they denied knowledge of the drugs. They told interrogators, the drugs may have been planted by drug agents. They continue to insist they know nothing about the drugs found in their possession. However, they have been handed over to the concerned authorities.

In a similar incident, the Airport Customs have also arrested a British passenger for attempting to smuggle into the country 3 sachets of marijuana. The suspect arrived from the UK and the narcotics were found hidden in his shoes. The man and the substance have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, police are looking for an unidentified person for breaking into the farm of a Kuwaiti man in Salmi and stealing 9 rare sheep worth KD 12,000, reports Al-Kuwaitiah. The owner has filed a complaint with the Jahra Police Station. In his complaint the Kuwaiti said the thief was armed with a knife and threatened to stab the guard if he raised an alarm.
