The 9th British Trade Exhibition, titled ‘Britain in Kuwait’, which took place from 15 to 17 January at the Salwa Al-Sabah Ballroom, saw the participation of leading companies from Britain and Kuwait. Organized by Al-Jabriya Exhibition Group and sponsored by the British Embassy in Kuwait and the Kuwait-British Friendship Society, the three-day exhibition was a resounding success.
Guest of Honor, Sheikh Naser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al Sabah, inaugurated the exhibition on 15 January, in the presence of the British Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Matthew Lodge and the President of the Al-Jabriya Exhibition Group, Ahmed Ismael Behbehani, as well as many prominent entrepreneurs and businesses. The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Alan Yarrow, who is on an official visit to the country, is slated to visit the exhibition on Saturday.
For the 9th year, the exhibition maintained its high status as the best event for showcasing British goods in Kuwait and emphasizing the close relations between Kuwait and Britain, as well as supporting Britain’s goal of increasing trade with Kuwait. The event allowed British companies, encompassing all sectors such as retail, healthcare, hospitality, foodstuff, education and much more, to display quality goods in an open public forum.
A number of exciting activities were also held on the sidelines of the exhibition with some companies offering numerous first-to-market promotions. Ambassador Lodge viewed the exhibition as wholly positive, saying that it was wonderful to see so many people and he was encouraged by the energy and enthusiasm shown over the partnership between the two countries.
