The keynote speaker of the day was the eminent Islamic scholar Sakir Hussain Thuvoor. He emphasised on the importance of inculcating the very essence and fragrance of Ramadan. He also said that self-introspection and leading an upright and righteous life is essential for everyone irrespective of their caste, creed and religion.

EP Prasad represented Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kuwait. Prasad emphasised on the importance of Ramadan and its virtues. He also added that Ramadan is the noblest of all religious observances and is a spiritual journey rather than a mere religious observance as it involves spiritual reflection and spiritual elevation. He thanked everyone for attending the IES Iftar Meet and wished the attendees a blessed Ramadan on behalf of the Bhavan family.

Hundreds of invitees ended their day-long fast together celebrating the true essence of Ramadan in the school auditorium and basketball ground by sitting together on the rugs that were laid all over.
