Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan amazes at the annual Science Gala-2017

Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kuwait) witnessed a rousing commendation of Bhavanites for their astounding success in the ‘Sastra Pratibha’ contest and the Kuwait Children’s Science Congress. 

The glitzy event, organized by the Science International Forum (SIF) Kuwait, took place at the American School of Kuwait auditorium, Hawally. The auditorium was packed with a large audience including the brightest minds from various science and technology organizations in the country. The special invitees of the event were Dr. Manish Jain, one of the renowned scientists from IIT Gandhinagar, India and Dr. Sibaji Raha, Joint Scientific Council-GSI&FAIR, Germany. The Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Sunil Jain also attended as a special guest.

The proud Bhavanites viz Abhinaya K.S., Sudarshan Sundarrajan, Malavika Krishna, and Karthik Sudheer were undeniably the cynosure of the evening as they were the four Sastra Pratibha winners, along with their teacher guides and their Principal, T Premkumar. They were bestowed high praise by the special invitees for their scientific brilliance and accomplishments. In addition to the four winners, there were also twenty-one outstanding performers from Bhavans, Kuwait who received applause from the audience.

Adding merriment to the celebrations, both the junior and the senior teams of Bhavans, Kuwait emerged the winners of Kuwait Children’s Science Congress, and they were honored by the organizers. The auditorium reverberated with applause when Bhavans, Kuwait was awarded the coveted Acharya J C Bose Sastra Puraskar 2016-17 for the best performing school. The school was chosen for the award for the second time in a row for producing the highest number of winners in the myriad activities organized by SIF Kuwait across the country. The teacher guides of the science projects were also felicitated by the organizers.

Mr.  Premkumar, the Principal, Bhavans, Kuwait himself an inspiring teacher with the finest scientific mind, congratulated the winners on their inspirational achievements. He also congratulated the Department of Science, IES for instilling zeal and zest in ‘the scientists in the making.’
