During surprise security campaigns launched in a number of areas in Capital Governorate, a total of 57 individuals were arrested including an Arab woman who is in the country on a visit visa and was caught begging in commercial malls and mosques after convincing passersby that she is facing medical and financial problems. According to security sources, the campaigns were launched based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali and under the guidance of Capital Security Director Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah.
The arrested individuals included an Asian expatriate who had placed a table by the roadside for selling some goods, 11 expatriates who were reported as absconding, 17 for violating the residency law, 19 without identification documents and 8 marginal workers. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. The officers also issued 90 citations against various traffic violations and seized 7 vehicles for violating traffic law.
Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen launched security campaigns in Sabahiya and Fahad Al-Ahmad areas during which they closed down three mobile groceries, lifted 8 neglected vehicles and seized 10 vehicles that violated the traffic law. Securitymen also arrested an Asian expatriate in possession of 15 bottles of locally-brewed liquor and a Kuwaiti citizen in possession of drugs. They were referred to the concerned authorities for legal measures.
