Bangladeshi Embassy pays tribute to historical 1971 speech

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kuwait celebrated on 7 December, the inclusion of the historic 7 March 1971 Speech by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as part of the world's documentary heritage of the UNESCO Memory of the World International Register.

On the occasion, the embassy organized a discussion program and a screening of the historic 7 March speech by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Some eminent expatriate Bangladeshi nationals including embassy officials, officials of Bangladesh Military Contingent (BMC) and official of Biman Bangladesh Airlines participated in the lively discussion on the significance of the 7 March Speech by the Father of the Nation and its inclusion in UNESCO Memory of the World International Register.

 Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait H.E. S M Abul Kalam summed up the discussion and reiterated that the historic speech by the Father of the Nation will continue to enthrall the Bangladeshi people and will continue to inspire generations to attain a happy and prosperous 'Sonar Bangla', which was a dreamed by the Father of the Nation.

The program was widely attended by a large number of expatriates, Bangladeshi nationals, including civil society representatives, media representatives and others. Finally, refreshments were arranged for all the guests.
