Two Bangladeshi expatriates were arrested for selling stolen state-owned copper cables. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the ministry’s Public Relations and Security Media Department explained that Jahra Security Directorate launched investigations after receiving information about a 1954-born Bangladeshi expatriate who was selling stolen copper cables.
After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, securitymen placed him under observation and eventually arrested him. He confessed that he has been storing the cables in his apartment in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh area.
Securitymen rushed to the apartment and arrested his accomplice of same nationality who is born in 1962.
Securitymen confiscated several cables, tools used for cutting cables and scale used for selling the cables. The suspects confessed that they purchased the cables from an Egyptian expatriate but they do not have any details about him, as he used to visit them once in a while for selling the cables.
Necessary legal action was taken and the two suspects were referred to the concerned authorities. Further investigations are ongoing.
