Bangladesh embassy celebrates 99th Birthday of Bangabandhu Rahman

The Embassy of Bangladesh celebrated on 17 March, the 99th Birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day 2018 in a befitting manner.

An art competition was arranged in three groups for the children of Bangladesh expatriates at Multipurpose Hall in the Embassy to mark the day, where around 100 children took part in the competition. The program of the day began with the recitation from the Holy Quran. A special dua and Munajat were offered seeking divine blessings for the Father of the Nation, his family members and for the continued peace and progress of the country.

The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait H.E. S M Abul Kalam along with other officers placed floral tributes before the portrait of the Father of the Nation. Messages given by the Hon'ble President, Hon'ble Prime Minister, Hon'ble Foreign Minister on this day were read out by officers of the Mission.

A documentary film on the Father of the Nation was shown at the program. Md. Anisuzzaman, Counsellor (Political) and Head of Chancery of the Embassy anchored the entire program. A good number of participants took part in discussion session and they highlighted the life and achievements of Bangabandhu.

The ambassador Abul Kalam in his speech urged all to follow the ideals and teachings of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu in their real life and to work unitedly for achieving a 'Sonar Bangla' dreamt by Bangabandhu under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also emphasized that Bangabandhu always thought about the well-being of the children of the country. He mentioned that to educate children, Bangabandhu expanded Primary Education throughout the nation. He also requested the Bangladesh community in Kuwait to increase the image of their beloved motherland.

He also thanked all the people who were present at the discussion meeting. After the discussion, prizes and certificates for the art competition were awarded by the Bangladesh Ambassador. Finally, refreshments were arranged for all the guests.
