Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait observed 42nd Anniversary of the Victory Day of the People's Republic of Bangladesh at the Chancery. In the morning, to mark this auspicious day, His Excellency Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin, ndc,psc, Ambassador of Bangladesh hoisted the National Flag ceremoniously in the presence of Embassy officials, officials of the Bangladesh Military Contingent, Bangladesh Biman, members of the community and representatives of local print and electronic media.
His Excellency Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin, ndc,psc, Ambassador paid deepest respect to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and all martyrs of the great war of liberation and freedom fighters. He urged upon the expatriate community to work together with utmost sincerity and integrity to improve the image of Bangladesh in Kuwait. He also thanked them for their role and contribution for the country.
Blood Donation Program: On the occasion of celebration of 42nd Victory Day of Bangladesh on 16 December 2013, Embassy of Bangladesh in Kuwait organized an elaborated program. Among the events, the Embassy arranged a ‘Blood Donation’ program in association with Central Blood Bank of Kuwait. Around 100 Bangladeshi expatriates in Kuwait donated blood with great enthusiasm. H.E. Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin, ndc, psc, inaugurated the program by donating his own blood . This was perhaps the first initiative undertaken by an Embassy to show such noble and humanitarian efforts.
Cultural Program: With the patronization of Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait, Bangladesh community organized a Cultural Program at Abbasiya Touristic Park on 20 December 2013. More than twenty cultural groups/organizations participated in the program.
The program began with recitation from the Holy Quran at 5:20. After that one minute silence was observed in honour of martyrs of Liberation War of Bangladesh. Amidst cheerful huge crowd, H.E. Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin, Ambassador, inaugurated the program. In his speech he paid his deepest respect to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and all martyrs of the great war of liberation and freedom fighters. He congratulated the organizers for their united efforts in holding the magnificent event. The program was continued till 8:30pm. In the program patriotic songs, poem recitation, folk and band music, traditional and contemporary dances, short drama and many other cultural performances were rendered by Bangladeshi expatriates in Kuwait.
