Balmain's renowned designer Olivier Rousteing, debuted his explosive new limited-edition Balmain x H&M collection online and at 260 H&M stores worldwide, including in Kuwait. On 2 November, the collaboration saw members of the media,  photographers and fashionistas at The Avenues' Prestige Ballroom, in a glitzy launch event.

Besides Balmain x H&M music video, which featured Rousteing's particular brand of glamour – Parisian chic and empowerment – the event showcased limited-edition line such as Rousteing’s 'Balmain Army', which is often found in pieces such as a heavily beaded bodycon dress inspired by a Fabergé egg, or a strong-shouldered jumpsuit in a jewel tone, cinched in at the waist with a gold belt.

Shimmering pink, forest green, and head-to-toe black, limited-edition beaded dresses and beaded jackets, were complemented by knock-back minty mocktails and nibble on squares of miniaturized bites.

While the collaboration's women's collection opened on 5 November, the collection was already out on eBay with less than 40 items from the collection listed by the sellers. Some of the pieces that ruled the collection included the long-line beaded jacket, the white and black velvet blazers, striped trousers, the green sequin dress, and the classic beaded dress.

The collections' huge accessories – armor-like rings, chunky necklaces and bracelets, massive earnings and bedazzled clutches – were certainly not subtle.

Although Balmain is not known for easy-on-the-pocket couture, but the H&M collaboration is taking the usually-pricey Balmain's reach much wider, creating a 'Balmain Nation' as it becomes high-street-wear. Get ready to see the hashtag #HMBalmaiNation popping out over the next few months.
