Bahrain's prime minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman receives delegation of Kuwaiti officials and journalists.

Bahrain's prime minister on Wednesday heaped praise on His Highness the Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad AlJaber AlSabah as a leader whose accomplishments are immeasurable, on the same day where a new Kuwaiti airport terminal launched its inaugural flight.

Bahrain is honored to have been the destination for the first flight to take off from Kuwait International Airport's new Terminal 4 (T4), Prince Khalifa bin Salman told a delegation of Kuwaiti officials and journalists, all of whom were onboard the maiden flight.

He was cited by Bahrain's staterun news agency BNA as saying that the two Gulf neighbors share an impenetrable bond, pointing out that the completion of the new terminal was a testament to the meteoric development seen in Kuwait.

Bahraini Finance Minister Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammad, as well as Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed have also extended their congratulations to Kuwait on the opening of the new airport terminal.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's ambassador to Manama Sheikh Azzam AlSabah told KUNA that the opening of the new terminal was a historic milestone that brings Kuwait closer to achieving its development goals.

Earlier on Wednesday, T4's inaugural flight took to the skies with much fanfare to land in the Bahraini capital Manama. The northern terminal stretches on 55,000 square meters with the capacity to accommodate 3.5 million passengers per year through its 14 sprawling gates.
