The UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a 'Humanitarian Leader' and choosing Kuwait as a 'Humanitarian Center' represent an honoring to all sates of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) particularly Bahrain's people, Jassem Abu Tabeina, the head of a popular Bahraini delegation visiting Kuwait, said.
In a statement to KUNA before heading to Kuwait to congratulate His Highness the Amir on UN honoring a 'Humanitarian Leader, Tabeina said that the delegation was formed by an initiative of Bahrain's people to offer congratulation to His Highness the Amir, the government and people of Kuwait He added that the 40-member delegation is visiting Kuwait for three days and will visit a host of governorates, presenting some varied performances with ancient folklore costumes.
He thanked Kuwait Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah for providing facilities to the delegation.
Ambassador Azzam, meanwhile, lauded Bahrain's initiative, saying it expresses the deep-rooted relations between the two peoples.
The delegation's visit to Kuwait to congratulate His Highness the Amir reflects deep relations between the two countries, he added .
