This week, Chemistry students and Chemistry Team teachers from the British School of Kuwait’s Year 12 class visited Kuwait University’s Department of Chemistry. BSK students toured the research laboratories and observed the state-of-the-art advanced scientific instruments. They observed a range of chemical analysis techniques, including infra-red spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
The Kuwait University Faculty of Science was generous in welcoming the fifty high school students to its facilities. Students had the opportunity to study the chemical techniques and ask questions of the university’s experts, who included Professor Jasem Mohamed Al-Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Professor Ali Bumajdad, Vice-Dean for Academic and Graduate Studies; Dr Khaled Al Qattan, Vice-Dean for Research and Laboratories; Dr Saad Al-Makhseed, Director, Research Sector Projects Unit and Hamidu Ben Youngo, Instructor, Research Sector Projects Unit; Team of instructors, Research Sector Projects Unit.
