Building on its success last year, a group of students from The British School of Kuwait (BSK) were honoured to attend the second week-long German Language Camp in Oman, organised by the Goethe Institute. In total, 25 students from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman were invited to participate. The camp, which took place in the idyllic surroundings of Wadi A’Shab resort, had a particular focus on the so-called STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
In addition to receiving 20 hours of German language instruction, students took part in a workshop researching German inventions and later presented their findings to the rest of the group. Students were also privileged to experience trips to Oman’s cultural highlights including the Grand Mosque, Royal Opera House, Twin Forts and Mutrah Souk in Muscat, the ancient coastal maritime city of Sur and a hike through the picturesque Wadi A’Shab itself. The visit culminated in an evening of impressive theatrical presentations of students’ work throughout the week, attended by dignitaries from the Omani Ministry of Education.
The British School of Kuwait is privileged to be a Partner School of the German Government and looks forward to further collaborations in 2017.
