On Thursday, 9 March, The British School of Kuwait (BSK) was honoured to welcome the Ambassador of Germany to Kuwait, H.E Karlfried Bergner, Rüdiger Zettel, Counsellor and Deputy Head of the German Embassy and Horst Blasinger, the Commercial, Press and Cultural Attaché from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

During an enjoyable visit, Ambassador Bergner was briefed on BSK’s efforts to promote the study of the German language as well as the school’s German Partner School status, which it gained in 2009. This has led to numerous and ever-increasing German-related activities, including Language Camps, Film Evenings, Scholarships and participation in several competitions.

The Ambassador was delighted to meet BSK students of German who were sitting German Government examinations, including those students who hope to be selected for two 3-week study scholarships to Germany, taking place in Summer 2017.

Ambassador Bergner also congratulated and presented Certificates of Achievement to four BSK students of German, who recently won 9th place out of 100 schools worldwide in a German STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Video competition.

As a Partner School of the German Government, The British School of Kuwait is committed to promoting the study of the German language and culture and looks forward to further collaborations in 2017.
