BSK hosts Book Week 2017
April 10, 2017, 1:17 pm

Book Week is a special time at The British School of Kuwait (BSK) when students can celebrate reading and the books that have made a difference in their lives. It is also a time when teachers can promote reading and spark an interest in reading in those who currently don’t tend to read in their spare time.  BSK students took part in a number of activities related to books in order to mark the week.

Reception to Year 8 students participated in costume competitions, coming to school dressed as their favorite characters from literature. There were also a number of competitions, run by the English Team, including redesigning a book cover, a haiku competition and a mini-saga writing competition. Different class teachers also led their own Book Week related activities to celebrate and encourage reading, such as making bookmarks and taking Year 8 students to read with KG students. Without a doubt, the week proved to be a valuable and enriching experience.
