The British School of Kuwait (BSK) started their ISACK Season 2 off the back of three titles in Season 1, and quickly picked up wins across the Girls’ basketball and boys’ volleyball campaign. Incredibly, four out of the six teams for Season 2 not only made the ISACK final, but took the title.
The Under 15 Boys’ volleyball team won a breath-taking battle over NES as their game went to a final set, and after defending three match points, BSK eventually took the set 20-18 to become ISACK champions. Captain Alex McEwan and Coach Marius Trimpian were delighted with the fighting spirit the team showed in this momentous final.
The Under 13 Girls pulled off the shock of the season, winning games against NES (semi-final) and TES (final) having lost to them earlier in the season. Coach Lidija Knjazeva and Captain Renee Sarmiento are proud of the way the team showed their abilities to take the ISACK title.
The U15 Girls’ basketball side had a perfect season, eventually overcoming NES in the final in front of a home crowd. Considerably smaller in height than a lot of teams at this age, they certainly made up for it in terms of commitment and heart. Captain Reem Aguib and Coach Georgi Knjazev were happy to secure a fourth ISACK title in a row for this age group.
The Open Age Girls basketball side had a similar season – winning very single game on the way to their third straight ISACK championship. These girls had already taken the netball title in season 1, and will be looking to add another medal in Season 3 – well done to captain Meral Al-Shair, and coach Georgi Knjazev.
BSK now moves into Season 3 looking to add to their record breaking achievements and setting new sporting milestones for 2015/2016.
