The British Academy of Sport (BAS) organized another successful sports and cultural trip this time to Carlingford, Dundalk and Dublin in the beautiful emerald island of Ireland. A group of 23 students from three private schools in Kuwait and 3 teachers enjoyed a fun filled adventure holiday as part of their Spring term break.

The trip was for 6 days in the Carlingford region, which is a beautiful resort and coastal town in County Louth with many medieval houses and streets as well as picturesque sights located by the sea side.

The students had a great time and enjoyed many challenging sports activities including Canoeing,  Raft Building Challenge, Zipwire, Skypark, Archery, Laser Combat, Aeroball, 3D Maze, Rock Climbing, Challenge Island, Crab Fishing and the exceptional Leprechaun Hunt. All these activities were specially planned in advance for BAS students by the Carlingford Adventure Centre, which is the biggest Adventure Centre in Ireland.

The students also spent a wonderful time in Tayto Park in Dublin and visited the third biggest stadium in Europe, Croke Park Stadium in Dublin. At the stadium the children were fascinated to learn about the Gaelic Games including Hurling and Gaelic football. During their tour of Croke Park they were happy to meet the Minister for Employment and Small Business, Pat Breen MP, who visited Kuwait on two occasions as part of a parliamentary delegation and the students presented him with a gift and a specially minted BAS medal.

Another unique experience for the students was when they visited Navan Horse races and they could choose their favorite horse and jockey in each race.

The trip culminated with an Awards evening where most of the students participated in the traditional show ‘BAS Got Talent Show’ and all received medals, certificates and souvenirs of this historic trip from Ireland.

This amazing trip was organized in collaboration with the Irish Embassy in the UAE with the support of the Irish Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Patrick Hennessy, and sponsored by ITL World Travel Management Company.

Following the success of the Ireland Sports Trip, BAS is planning the next two trips to Europe in October 2017 and February 2018 during the Academy Term Breaks.
