The annual Carnival for The British Academy of International Arts (BAIA) and The British Academy of Sport (BAS) happened at the BSK campus in Salwa on 24 September. Hundreds of families enjoyed a fun-filled evening with activities and entertainment.
A wonderful carnival atmosphere welcomed the British Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Matthew Lodge and BAIA Patron Alexia Lodge to officially launch the carnival. The VIP party took a tour of the more than 40 booths and food court led by the BSK Director Madam Vera Al Mutawa MBE and Chariman Sadiq Al Mutawa.
BAIA has the most extensive range of accredited and recreational dance courses in Kuwait and there was keen interest from children and adults to sign up. These include Ballet, Modern Dance, Hip Hop, Street Dance, Tap and Jazz for internationally recognized examinations. BAIA also offers a full range of theatre, music and art courses for children from 3 years of age.
There were also many sport and other related courses offered at BAS including Swimming, Gymnastics, Football, Basketball, Karate, Roller Skating, Badminton, Zumba and Tennis. BAS provides opportunities for people of all ages to participate in a wide variety of sporting activities, tournaments and educational trips.
Throughout the evening, the stage were alive with exuberant performances from the various sponsors including the yearly sponsor for BAIA & BAS, ITL World, and the carnival sponsors Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait and New Mowasat Hospital.
BAIA & BAS students also took to the stage with fabulous performances showcasing the moves learnt from the courses offered throughout the year along. Many visitors actively took part and were entertained by long hours of games, with prizes for the little ones.
The evening was enjoyed by all with lots of newcomers to Kuwait availing of the opportunity to learn of the many services and products available for their families from Kuwait’s leading companies.
