A high powered Austrian parliamentary delegation headed by Christine Muttonen visited Kuwait recently as part of 50th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Austria.
The delegation comprising of Christine Muttonen, MP and spokesperson on foreign policy and EU affairs, Brigitte Brenner, Ambassador and head of the EU and international services Dr. Reinhold Lopatka, Senate, Monika Mühlwerth, MP, Tanja Windbüchler-Souschill, MP and Dr.Jessi Lintl, MP.
During their visit, the delegation met with high ranking officials and the deputy speaker of the Kuwaiti parliament. Speaking to The Times, Kuwait Mrs Muttonen said the delegation was highly impressed with their visit and meetings with various government officials. She pointed out that Kuwait and Austria shared a very deep and intimate relationship lasting over 50 years.
Earlier, Austrian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Ulrich Frank hosted a reception. In his welcome address Ambassador Frank expressed his satisfaction at the excellent relations between the two nations and the growing trade and bilateral exchanges taking place.
