An Asian expatriate was arrested by anti-narcotics men in possession of a kilogram of heroin, 10 thousand narcotic pills, and a kilogram of drug substance ‘shabu’, reports Al-Seyassah. The arrest followed several reports the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) received about an Asian expatriate peddling in drugs who allegedly delivered the contraband at specific spots after the value has been paid. Usually, the suspect would drop the substance at the location and leave at once without waiting for the customer.

Security sources said the suspect operated on different mobile numbers and security operatives were able to trace his full details through intensive investigation and surveillance. Meanwhile, guarded by search and arrest warrant from public prosecution, officers raided the apartment of the suspect and confiscated the above stated contraband. He confessed trafficking in drugs and was referred with the items to Drug Prosecution.

Securitymen seize drugs, sharp objects from youth

Security operatives from Jahra arrested a youth at a checkpoint in the governorate for possessing illicit drug and its paraphernalia and sharp objects. Also, a stolen car was recovered by the officers after impounding 10 vehicles and issuing 160 traffic citations, reports a local Daily.

A security source said security operatives from the directorate erected checkpoints to pursue violators of civil and traffic laws based on the orders of Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah and arrested a youth with illicit drug and related tools, besides recovering a stolen vehicle and impounding 10 other vehicles for various traffic violations. Sources said the campaign will continue in the governorate over an unspecified period to rid the country of crime.
