Farwaniya securitymen, with the participation of Kuwait Municipality, carried out an intensive campaign in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh on Friday morning under the supervision of Acting Chief of Farwaniya Security Directorate Major General Mohammad Al-Enezi during which they arrested a number of expatriates who are wanted by law and sentenced in absentia, or violated the residency law or are suspects in thefts and crimes, reports a local daily.
The campaign was held under the guidance of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al- Sabah and was followed up by the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad.
The aim of the campaign was ensuring security and stability and arresting violators of residency and labor laws and wanted persons in all areas. Large quantities of military uniforms on sale were also seized and some quantities of expired food not suitable for human consumption was confiscated.
Major General Al-Enezi said the campaign at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh is part of a series of campaigns that will be held at all areas with the aim of eliminating all negative phenomena in the country.
Meanwhile, assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali carried out security tours in the police stations and security checkpoints in Ahmadi, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Hawally, Farwaniya and Jahra governorates. He gave instructions to the securitymen about applying the law equally on all during security campaigns in all areas in order to prevent crimes before they occur.
According to a security source, Jahra securitymen arrested eight individuals at security checkpoints for possessing alcohol and drugs, as well as Asian expatriate in possession of a number of bottles of locally-brewed liquor.
In Ahmadi Governorate, securitymen arrested 17 individuals wanted by law for financial and criminal crimes and for violating the residency law, while in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, securitymen arrested 16 reckless motorists and seized 5 vehicles that were wanted for civil and criminal crimes.
In Farwaniya Governorate, 20 wanted individuals and violators of residency law were arrested in the presence of Major General Al-Ali at security checkpoints. In Hawally, eight individuals were arrested for violating the residency law, seven for not holding identification documents and a Jordanian expatriate for possessing 48 bottles of locally brewed liquor.
