Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmad Al-Jarwan expressed Tuesday full support to unity of the Syrian territories, and affirmed that dialogue was the sole solution for the bloody conflict while rejecting foreign interference.
Al-Jarwan, addressing the opening session of the 25th Arab summit, called for stopping bloodshed in Syria, and blamed the international community for failure to protect the unarmed people in Syria from killing and displacement "only for demanding freedom and democracy." Al-Jarwan commended the neighboring countries of Syria, particularly Jordan and Lebanon, for hosting hundreds of thousands of refugees.
He also praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for hosting two donors' conference for the Syrian people.
Al-Jarwan, meanwhile, extended full support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Arab Parliament calls for the immediate cessation of expansion of Jewish settlements, judaization of occupied Jerusalem and tarnishing its Arab, Islamic and Christian identity, he said.
Al-Jarwan praised Saudi King Abdullah's USD 200 million contribution to support steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
The Arab Parliament, he said, called for an end of Iran's occupation of the three UAE's islands - Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Moussa - either through negotiations or international arbitration.
Al-Jarwan strongly condemned all forms of terrorism in all Arab countries.
