Kalyan Jewellers, one of India’s most trusted jewellery brands, has announced its foray into Kuwait with the opening of three signature showrooms on 26 December, 2014.
The showrooms will be located in Fahaheel, Al Rai Kuwait and Malia (Kuwait City). Amitabh Bachchan, a stalwart of Indian cinema and the Brand Ambassador of Kalyan Jewellers will inaugurate the outlets, along with the other Ambassadors Manju Warrier (Malayalam film actress) and Prabhu Ganesan (Tamil film actor). The Chairman of the group T. S. Kalyanaraman, and the Executive Directors Mr. Rajesh Kalyanaraman and Ramesh Kalyanaraman will also be present for the inauguration.
At the inauguration of the stores, the three celebrities will jointly address the members of the public from a specially erected stage. Mr. Bachchan, Ms. Warrier and Mr. Ganesanwill also grace a gala evening celebrating the entry into Kuwait as also surpassing a historic figure of 75 showrooms in the Kalyan Jewellers network.
The opening of Kalyan Jewellers showrooms in Kuwait is part of the company’s growth plans to expand its presence in Gulf Cooperation Council countries and is aimed at providing the best jewellery buying experience for customers. The showrooms,curated in close partnership with designers and stylistswill be offering an exquisite and extensive collection of jewellery, with stunning designs.
Speaking on the occasion, T.S. Kalyanaraman, Chairman & Managing Director, Kalyan Jewellers said, “This is a momentous occasion as the Kuwait launch coincides with a significant milestone for the brand. With the launch in Kuwait, the total number of showrooms will be 77 across West Asia and India. There has been a steady rise in the demand for exquisite precious jewellery across West Asia as a whole and we have ambitious plans for consolidating our position in Kuwait. With the three showrooms opening in Kuwait, Kalyan Jewellers will have 77 outlets spread across West Asia and India including nine in the UAE. It will also add Qatar to its presence shortly. By the end of fiscal 2015, Kalyan Jewellers is targeting 100 showrooms. Kalyan Jewellers recently attracted a significant investment of US$ 200 million from leading private equity investor Warburg Pincus. The investment is set to accelerate the growth plans of Kalyan Jewellers as it consolidates its leading position in the existing markets and enters global markets including Singapore and Malaysia. Since the investment from Warburg Pincus, Kalyan Jewellers has added over 15 showrooms to its network.
